The much anticipated TitanFall, produced by Respawn, is only going to be multiplayer.
Respawn
is composed of many of the previous developers of Infinity Ward. These
developers created Call of Duty 2, Modern Warfare, and Modern Warfare 2.
After leaving Infinity Ward, they created their own company called
Respawn where they seek to revolutionize the FPS genre once again. With
their newest title, TitanFall, they are not going to include a
singleplayer, the reason being that the majority of people who play FPS
games like Call of Duty spend the majority of their time playing
multiplayer so it would be a waste of resources for such a small team to
work on a campaign mode.

I personally don't think it's a big
deal. I was never fond of the campaign modes in Call of Duty, but I know
some people enjoyed them. Regardless, I highly doubt people bought Call
of Duty for the singleplayer alone, they probably purchased it moreso
for the multiplayer experience. I agree with the studio developers, why
waste resources on a singleplayer when they can improve the multiplayer?
Recently, FPS games are all clones of each other with different maps.
That's what the Call of Duty series has come down to. It's becoming
quite ridiculous and it's refreshing to know that the original creators
that made Call of Duty so popular are trying to do something different
and finally take the FPS genre in a new direction.

Hopefully
TitanFall succeeds and we can see some nice healthy competition between
Respawn and their former studio, Infinity Award, and that in turn
results in much better FPS games. However, a drawback is that it could
split up the audiences between the games, some may prefer TitanFall and
others may prefer Call of Duty, but we just have to wait and find out
what happens. TitanFall could end up being very disappointing, but I
doubt it, it has received much praise at E3, so it should hopefully be
great.
With that said, I'm expecting that this game could be
played on a wide variety of settings and computers as Respawn hopes to
capture a large audience with the PC version. It's most likely that
builds as cheap as $400 should easily be able to play the game at very
playable settings.
TitanFall is expected to release next year for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the PC. Hope you enjoy it.
